With the New iPad to be in many of our hands on March 16th, possibly before. Many are wondering if the iPad 2 cases will work on the New iPad.
The depth of the New iPad is 0.37 inch, whereas the iPad 2 measured in at 0.34 inch. Weight aside the remaining measurements are the same.
As more information comes available, I will be maintaining a definite list of iPad 2 >; New iPad case compatibility. If you have a silicone type case. Those typically stretch to an extent so those should be fine. A hard fitted case such as an otterbox may not fit. This will be updated.
Also as a heads up. Many manufacturers discount previous generation items. I picked up a nice iPhone 4 folio for my 4S for $7 normally priced at $49. Even if you don’t own an iPad 2. It may be more cost effective to buy an iPad 2 case then for New iPad.
One of the big questions is if the Zaggfolio for the iPad 2 will fit the new iPad.
